 Canyon Lake's New One Stop Site for Everything Kids!

My name is Lisa Peters and I am a Canyon Lake Mom.

A single mom with 3 very active children

A mom who has found it very frustrating every single year when trying  to find information about the many different activities Canyon Lake has to offer for kids.  I have searched backpacks for flyers and the world wide web for web-sites.  I have called Community Centers, sent e-mail and Facebook requests to sports leagues.  I have asked other moms and even begged school employees for information.

AND

every year I still end up missing at least one registration deadline!!  This year it was basketball-somehow the elementary school forgot to pass out the informational flyers with all the Christmas break excitement AND  I found out about sign-ups after they had already passed-along with alot of other parents with future basketball stars that wanted to play.

I have the utmost respect for the many volunteers who give their time to be scout leaders and soccer coaches, or football and cheer parents taking time out of their busy schedules to teach groups of rambunctious young athletes in 100 degree weather;
It is a huge undertaking to get it all organized.

BUT I must admit that I have done a fair amount of griping myself when schedules weren't sent out until AFTER the first scheduled practice dates had passed or when I had asked for a compete list of the costs and required gear only to be told that they forgot to mention that it was mandatory that the mouthpiece have a strap that attaches to the helmet.  Of course, that little detail didn't come to light until I had driven 30 miles to the nearest sporting goods store, purchased the wrong mouthpiece and boiled it to mold it to my son's mouth.  

I know I am not the only mom who is struggling to make ends meet while, at the same time, wanting to make sure that her kids get the opportunity to participate in  all the fun stuff that makes it so cool to be a kid-it ain't easy- but we do it for our kids because that is just what we do.

I decided to stop whining and to figure out a solution. 

Everything Canyon Lake Kids  is designed to be the only place you have to look for information for all youth events that occur in Canyon Lake.  From kindergarten Easter Egg Hunts to Varsity Football Games, from the 3rd grade performances of Mother Goose to National Dance Team Competitions, this community calendar will provide busy parents with all the information they need.
